Our warranty

Two years. Every job. No catches.

The standard workmanship warranty in residential plumbing and electrical is one year. We doubled it because we want you to know the work is going to hold up, and we want to be the ones standing behind it when it does.

No maintenance contract. No annual membership. No fine print that quietly takes the warranty away. If something we did fails within two years, we come back and fix it free.

What you get

A longer warranty with fewer conditions.

Most extended warranties come with strings. Ours is straightforward: we did the work, we stand behind it.

1 · The warranty

2 years on workmanship, no strings attached

The standard warranty in residential plumbing and electrical is one year. We warranty our work for two. That is not a promotional offer or a limited-time thing. It is how we operate on every job.

What it covers
Every piece of work we perform, from a faucet swap to a full panel upgrade. If something we installed or repaired fails because of how we did the work, we come back and fix it at no cost to you.
Materials too
Materials and fixtures we supply are warranted for 2 years or the manufacturer’s warranty period, whichever is longer. If a manufacturer’s warranty applies, we help you file the claim.
Your materials, our labor
If you supply your own materials, we warranty our workmanship in installing them. We cannot warranty the materials themselves.

2 · No maintenance contract

The warranty stands on its own

Some companies offer extended warranties but require you to buy a recurring maintenance plan to keep them active. Ours does not work that way.

No annual contract
You do not need to purchase a maintenance agreement, a membership, or any ongoing service plan to keep your warranty in effect. It is included with the work, period.
No inspections to maintain coverage
We will not void your warranty because you skipped an annual tune-up or did not book a follow-up visit. The warranty covers what we did, and it lasts two years from the day we finished.

3 · Filing a claim

Call us. That is it.

If something goes wrong with work we performed, the process is a phone call or an email. No paperwork, no runaround.

How it works
Contact our office. We schedule an inspection at no charge. If the issue is a workmanship defect, we fix it at no cost. If it falls outside warranty coverage, we give you a quote so you can decide how to proceed.
One thing we ask
Give us a chance to look at the problem before hiring someone else to fix it. If a third party repairs work covered by our warranty before we have had a chance to inspect it, we can no longer verify what happened, and the warranty on that specific work is voided.

What the warranty does not cover

Fair exclusions, plainly stated.

A warranty should cover the work we did, not every possible thing that can go wrong in a house. These are the boundaries, in plain language.

Normal wear and tear

Deposits, corrosion, and blockages that build up through regular use over time are not workmanship defects.

Tampering or unauthorized work

If someone other than Kestrel modifies, repairs, or tampers with work we performed, the warranty on that work no longer applies.

Pre-existing conditions

Code violations, structural deficiencies, deteriorated pipes or wiring, and other issues that existed before we arrived are not covered, whether or not they were visible at the time.

Things outside our control

Water quality, soil movement, structural settling, power surges, pest damage, fire, flood, storms, and similar events are not workmanship failures.

Manufacturer defects

If a product fails due to a manufacturing defect rather than how we installed it, that is the manufacturer’s warranty, not ours. We will help you file the claim.

Cosmetic issues

Surface-level cosmetic concerns that do not affect the function or safety of the work are not covered.

Why 2 years

Because one year is not enough to know.

One year is long enough to catch obvious installation mistakes. It is not always long enough to catch the subtle ones: a fitting that was tightened almost enough, a connection that holds fine until the second winter.

Two years means you get through two full heating seasons, two summers of heavy water use, two years of the house doing what houses do. If our work holds up through all of that, it is going to keep holding up.

We are not doing this because a marketing consultant told us to. We are doing it because we hire good technicians, we train them well, and we trust the work. The 2-year warranty is us putting that in writing.
